We have improved the way we calculate task and project progress based on an updated methodology. From now on, the progress of entire project portfolios, individual projects, as well as individual tasks is calculated more precisely. The new way of calculating progress is based on a larger number of factors, thanks to which the implementation of less complicated project tasks has a much smaller impact on the progress of the projects they belong to. Similarly: less complicated projects have a lesser impact on the progress of the entire portfolio of projects implemented by the organization.
Calculating the progress of project implementation in proportion to the complexity of the project tasks is a unique functionality offered in the product. Thanks to the change, project managers receive much better insight into the true situation of projects and much more real progress of task implementation. For example: if a project contains 10 stages, half of which are very complex and half of which are relatively simple, completing half of the simplest tasks will now result in project progress being calculated as less than half completed. Detailed information on how it works can be found in the methodology document and in-app context-sensitive help.
